Sox face Rangers in hours

The Boston Red Sox, in Texas, are prepared for their opening day matchup. They will face C.J. Wilson, a lefty, using another southpaw, Jon Lester. The Yankees won their game yesterday on Curtis Granderson's bomb and two amazing catches, so the Sox want to win if they want to get ahead. There will be one great matchup in this game at third base: Kevin Youkilis at third for the Sox, and another guy who played for the Sox last year and was arguably their best player--and the player who knocked out two of their outfielders. Got it yet? Adrian Beltre, the Sox star, is playing third for the Rangers against former teammate Kevin Youkilis. The third baseman is happy to be with the Rangers, but he also enjoyed keeping company with the Sox. In any case, Rangers-Red Sox at 4 today. The second Opening Day is being kicked off by the Astros and Phillies in Philadelphia. Roy Halladay, the unarguable best pitcher in either league last year, is starting, but Brett Myers is opposing him well so far, as the score is tied at 0 through the first 3.5 innings. Bill Hall, another former Red Sock, is playing for Houston.

Trivia
Last year, Halladay led both leagues with 21 wins.

Bill Hall batted in the .230s with Boston, but he delivered several clutch homers.
